Whippany Park ‘21 Senior Mural

Design Process

Given total creative freedom to represent our class, I sought to find a subject related to the theme of nostalgia that would resonate with everyone. After conducting a survey among my classmates asking about their favorite childhood films, the consensus was that Toy Story was the most beloved movie. With this in mind, I spent a week creating a mockup of the mural design that captured the magic of Toy Story, while also making sure it was a true representation of our class and our farewell to our high school. After refining my concept, I devoted the next two months to bringing it to life, using a large wooden board as my canvas. To make the experience even more special, I invited all 135 members of my graduating class to sign their names and the colleges they planned to attend across the sky of the painting. The finished product was exhibited at the entrance of our graduation ceremony.
